Spring, Almost Summer (7-8 Months Old)

Does time move as fast for everyone else as it seems to for me? Jacob is a very active 8 month old...as you will see! He continues to grow and scream and eat then grow, scream and eat some more with an occasional bowel movement thrown in for good measure. He has mastered quite a few words, like Da-Da and AAGGGHHHHHHHHHH! Oh yes, as his mother, I am more proud than you could ever know. One day he may actually acknowledge my existence or who actually grew & delivered him to the world, but right now he is all about his DADDY! He constantly reaches for him, wants to play with him and laughs with him. We love our weekends and have been slack with the camera - sorry, folks. We did get to visit with the family a couple of weekend ago to celebrate Grampa Baur's birthday and it took him awhile, but he got the hang of the cousin thing. In fact, he loved Andrew and gave him plenty of hugs, he loved Emma for giving him Ritz crackers (yea, thanks, Emma) and he loved Mary Mac for trying to help him learn to drive the car/walker! Never a dull moment with those three around and I think Jake just liked watching them and trying to keep up with them - with his eyes only, of course. No crawling, yet, but he has to defy gravity in a single bound almost with those thighs holding him down! He loves his new walker (more about that later) and has become a terror in that thing - and discovered he can open cabinets and drawers - needless to say the baby-proofing has begun. Hope you enjoy these pictures and videos - we will try and get more pictures...if we remember to take the camera....

Jacob and I braved our first birthday party together as my friend Lauryn's son, Braden, turned one. Needless to say, Jake did not enjoy the other kids as much as I did and definitely didn't want his picture taken with the other babies.

Braden, Jake & Preston(who shares a birthday with Braden and was trying to make a break for it)

Jacob Loves his new Jeep - and running over the dog...

My new hats - it seems I like the Braves and Pirates...not the baseball team, the other pirates.

Sorry, Andy did this and didn't realize you can't turn the camera when shooting video, but hang in there - the kisses are worth it...

I love the SWING!!!!

So Jake continues to be a very happy baby. We had a great time with him this past Saturday to celebrate his Poppy's birthday and to get out and enjoy some warmer weather. The only reason you are getting this post, though, is becasue we stayed home from school today. There is strep throat going around and at least 3 of the babies have ear infections. Jake has a pretty bad cough, so we are giving him a get plenty of rest and breathing treatments day, while not being infected by other children. And then Mom gets sort of a mental health day. Enjoy the pics and I can't believe how quickly he is growing up...SCARY!!! Oh if I didn't tell you - 22.8lbs at the last doctor visit - he'd put some weight back on - like 2 pounds in 2 weeks!

Spring!!!! Sort Of...

Jake wants to swim with the fishes

Pics with Granny Curtis

A nice little Saturday with Team Dunn

First, we had a short visit with Uncle Kevin...he may have been asleep for that, but still he saw him.

Then, we took Jake to the Georgia Aquarium and he loved it. He seemed to love watching the fish, but he also seemed to love watching all the people. He really liked the wave tank that simulates a coral reef and the huge tank with the whale sharks. We spent quite a long time under the tunnel with hammerheads and fish going right over us. A couple of times he reached towards the glass hoping to touch the school of fish that were swimming nearby. I can't wait until he gets a little older and can understand what he's looking at and how he can learn from them.

Finally, we took Jake to the bowling alley. We were hoping to get a few games in with our neighbor Karen, but as there isn't much else to do on a Saturday night in Newnan, it was packed. We waited about an hour, but by then it was bed time, so we headed home. Jake was a little nervous at all the noise at first there, but then he seemed to really enjoy all the people again and watching the bright bowling balls roll toward the pins.

I'm exhausted - don't know about you, but now we're napping it up to get ready for an afternoon with Poppy. Enjoy the pictures. I know all of you are proud that there have been this many posts in a week. I am amazed myself!!! Stay tuned....
